Work in Action

We are a small team of volunteers at Town & District most of the work is carried out at weekends by our younger members, the key focus for the future is a local Ribble Guy Arab with a war time Utility body which was kindly donated to us by the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust, this project is a big task for our younger members who have just left school to learn & build new skills, it will mostly be completed by them, obviously they will be getting a little help along the way by other group members with what needs to be done, we have a large number of vehicles in our premises & most of the vehicles are slowly undergoing restoration but the overall result is them looking good and on the rally scene for members of the public to learn about their history, this year ahead will show a lot of work going into former Ribble Gay Hostess, some of the followers of our group will know that the vehicle is a significant vehicle across the world as it is the first ever long distance commuter coach. We are also seeing work commence on former Yorkshire Rider Leyland Olympian F158 XYG, it also hasn’t seen the road for many years but the owner is going to push on this year and try and get it completed with a repaint planned for the 2nd half of 2021. Here are some photos of just a handful of our projects worked on over the past few years…
